Does a Driver pay a carbon offset charge?

We took the decision that the Rider should contribute a small amount to cover the cost of the total journey.The cost is 5p per journey per person. This ensures that you are carbon negative when you Drive or Ride with SKOOT, but currently as we have waived all fees to help return to normal.

What does Carbon Negative mean?

It means that you offset more carbon that you emit!We’re a totally carbon-negative business which means we calculate how much carbon is output from every ride everyone does, plus all the carbon that every person working for SKOOT emits and we then plant trees to ensure we offset more carbon than we emit, making us Carbon Negative.Simply put, for every 3 rides we plant a tree – making every SKOOT user become at least 110% carbon negative on their journey.

How is a mobility App Carbon Negaitve?

Every trip that occurs on SKOOT is 110% carbon negative. This is done by planting 1 tree for every 3 trips which offloads all of the carbon emitted on your journeys. So when you use SKOOT, you’re not only helping out your friends, you’re also helping out the planet. #Win-Win

Who plants your trees?

We have partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects who plant our trees for us. We absolutely love them because not only do they plant trees, they build sustainable communities too. Eden helps create jobs in those locations helping boost these small economies. Creating a cycle of sustainability both to our environment and their society.

The App isn't working how I think it should, what should I do?

If you have experienced an Issue or a Bug with SKOOT, please get in touch with Vinnie at [email protected] would be hugely beneficial if you could take any screenshots of the issue occurring and list the phone type, phone model and version of SKOOT that you have downloaded.For every bug report we receive, SKOOT plants a tree in your name!

Can I call SKOOT?

Unfortunately due to being a relatively small team, we don’t have someone dedicated to answering calls and queries. However, if our Q&A’s don’t answer your questions, please fill out the contact us form.

My driving licence has expired but I have a government extension due to COVID, can i still drive on SKOOT?
